Together, We Make Public Safety Stronger

The Keizer Public Safety Foundation is a community-supported partner to the Keizer Fire District and Keizer Police Department — funding equipment, programs, training, and initiatives beyond what tax dollars cover.

Public Dollars Cover a Lot. Community Support Covers the Rest.

Tax funding keeps Keizer's fire and police services running every day. It does not always stretch to the extras — a training program a captain wants to pilot, a smoke detector for a neighbor who cannot afford one, or a safety camp that connects kids with first responders.

That is the gap this foundation was created to fill.

AED Placements

Approximately ten automated external defibrillators purchased and placed at locations throughout Keizer, adding tools that give bystanders a chance to help during a cardiac emergency.

Ongoing

Life Jacket Loaner Station

Support for the loaner station originally installed by board member Samantha Russell in 2017, plus roughly 20 sponsored life jackets each year so families can borrow the right size before they head to the water.

Ongoing

Residential Smoke Detector Program

Smoke detectors purchased for Keizer homes. Keizer Fire District personnel install one at no cost when a resident does not have a working detector.

Supporting Keizer's Fire and Police Departments

The Keizer Fire Foundation formed in 2017 to help the fire district. In 2025, our mission expanded to include the Keizer Police Department. We now support both — and the neighborhoods they serve — as the Keizer Public Safety Foundation.
